Infopulse Implements Request Management System Based on Integration of Microsoft SharePoint and Project Server

Infopulse introduced a system for management of change requests in information systems for one of the leading Ukrainian banks. This decision has allowed users to work with requests via Microsoft SharePoint, and at the same time to manage the requests same as projects using Microsoft Project Server. Thus, while managing requests one can use both the possibility of organizing joint work of Microsoft SharePoint and Network Scheduling Microsoft Project Server.

Based on Microsoft SharePoint, Infopulse has developed a module to support an adjustable life cycle of requests supporting integration with Microsoft Project Server. This module implements the business process of decision-making and queries adjustment, as well as automatic notification of status change requests and differentiation of user access to data queries. In addition, the integration of the request management system with other data within Microsoft SharePoint was implemented, a report system based on Reporting Services was developed, as well as Flash-based components for the graphic display of the current situation upon request.

As a result of the request management system reengineering, we managed to significantly reduce working hours on the maintenance of the requests processing, as well as improve business processes security and transparency. In its turn, integration with Microsoft Project Server 2007 enables data consolidation on the work done to implement requests processing in our corporate project management system created on the basis of Microsoft Project Server 2007. Thus, we have information about the workload of all the specialists consolidated, both during their involvement in projects and during the administrative tasks performance – Customer’s Project and Program manager
