Areas of Responsibility
- Be a part of the Voice & CloudCom Solutions value stream, assure second line support for all BICS Voice & CloudCom products and for all related platforms
- Follow-up Network Availability/Quality and perform proactive and reactive maintenance actions
- Work with first line/customer care team in order to find solutions for problems reported by our customers
- Work with our vendors and suppliers, customers and hosts, to report problems, follow up resolution and implementation in BICS network
- Take part in the second line guard duty organized within the value stream to support critical or time-sensitive situations outside of business hours
- Provide support for service- or platform-related issues and investigate the matter to find a resolution, keeping a focus on maintaining the KPI and SLA measurements defined
- Assist in daily maintenance activities coordinated by a Platform Owner Repair
- Monitoring and/or executing Planned Maintenances
- Take part in escalations to resolve issues asap and coordinate with other repair colleagues, assuring a proper follow of the incident management process
Qualifications
- In depth understanding of network switching and routing as related to a Unified Communications and Voice over IP network
- Working knowledge on SIP-trunking implementations
- Knowledge of signaling protocol monitoring tools, protocol analysers, trace analysis
- Strong knowledge and experience in Telecom technologies and ITU/ETSI telecom standards/protocols (SS7/ISUP, VoIP/SIP, RTP, MGCP, ENUM, INAP and HTTP)
- Knowledge of Unified Communications and Voice over IP in secure computing environments (designing secure APIs, SSL/TLS, etc)
- Unix / Linux knowledge
- Good analytical skills, and ability to use tools like Wireshark, Splunk, and other means for analytic root cause analysis
- Fluency in English
- Good planning & organization skills
- Analytical thinking & problem-solving skills
- Strong customer oriented competency: focusing on Customer demands
Will be an advantage
- Experience in the (international) Wholesale Telecom Business
- Working knowledge on Metaswitch Perimeta SBC, Ribbon SBC (SBC5K and SWe) and Softswitch, NetNumber TITAN
- Working knowledge on LRF (Location Retrieval Function) implementations for emergency call handling
- Working knowledge on FreeSWITCH application server
- Experience with multiplatform unified communications, collaboration, cloud telephony service
- Knowledge on API technologies
- Knowledge on SIP Registrar/Authentication mechanisms
- Knowledge on VoLTE
- Familiar with STIR/SHAKEN concepts
- Knowledge on BYOC (Bring Your Own Carrier), PSTN and call centre concepts
- Good understanding of telephony concepts (e.g. PBX, circuits, dial plans, routing)
- Familiar with agile development processes and/or tools
