Voice Engineer

Infopulse is looking for the Voice Engineer to support Voice and Cloud Communication Value Streams for our respectful client BICS, that is one of the world leaders in providing international communication connectivity and services (Voice, SMS, and Capacity)

Areas of Responsibility

  • Assure second line support for all BICS Voice & Cloud Communication services and platforms
  • Follow-up network availability and quality
  • Perform proactive and reactive maintenance actions
  • Suggest improvements in the proactive tasks & processes
  • Work and collaborate with first line and customer care team in order to find solutions for
    problems reported by our customers
  • Work and collaborate with our vendors and suppliers by reporting problems, follow up
    resolution and implementation in BICS network
  • Take part in our guard duty service (maximum once every four weeks) and support planned
    maintenance activities


  • Relevant degree in Electronics, Computer Sciences, IT, ICT and/or Telecommunications
  • 3+ years experience in telecom, mainly in voice switching (mobile telecom operators or
    International carriers)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Telecom technologies and ITU/ETSI telecom
    standards/protocols (SS7/ISUP, VoIP/SIP, RTP, MGCP)
  • Good understanding of network switching and routing as related to a Unified Communications
    and Voice over IP network
  • Some practical experience with NGN platforms (Sonus or Dialogic operational experience is an
  • Knowledge of SBCs like Ribbon SBC, Metaswitch SBC is an advantage
  • Good knowledge about of Transmission world and equipments
  • Knowledge of signalling protocol monitoring tools, protocol and trace analysers
  • Unix/Linux basic operational experience

Will be an advantage

  • Experience in the (international) Wholesale Telecom Business
  • Knowledge on one of the following topics
  • Metaswitch Perimeta SBC
  • Ribbon SBC (SBC5K and SWe) and Softswitch
  • NetNumber TITAN
  • LRF (Location Retrieval Function) implementations for emergency call handling
  • FreeSWITCH application server
  • Multiplatform unified communications
  • API technologies
  • SIP Registrar/Authentication mechanisms
  • VoLTE
  • STIR/SHAKEN concepts
  • Unified communication and collaboration platforms (e.g. MS Teams)
  • Good understanding of telephony concepts (e.g. PBX, circuits, dial plans, routing)
